2001 Towlite 17RK For Sale

For sale is a 2001 Hilo 17RK Travel Trailer.

It has the standard three burner stove/oven, propane/AC/DC fridge, air conditioning, water heater, furnace, shower with sink, toilet, kitchen sink, fresh water, grey water and black water tanks. In front are two enclosed propane tanks with new individual regulators.

In addition, we have added a microwave oven, Fantastic fan, LED lights inside (one still fluorescent), new LED license holder, backup camera, new charger, 1500w pure sine inverter, 300w solar with controller, and switches to safely switch from shore 110vac to inverter 110vac. The main upper/lower seal was replaced with an automotive seal. It is also pre-wired for a WeBoost, with an extension pole and cable to connect the antenna to the internal booster.

While the original king size bed was ok, we decided a smaller bed and more floor/storage space would be better. So at first we kept half the bed along one side, with a half couch opposite. Some of the pictures will show this setup. We wanted more floor space, so we changed to keep half the bed across the width of the unit, and half a couch on one side, and then added additional cabinet space with a long counter top from the edge of the door. So, we keep the bed made up all day, and use the couch to sit, although we don’t spend much time inside during the day anyway. It originally came with the Hi-Lo Bunk for additional sleeping space, but we removed it to make more head room (we still have it and goes with the unit).

The biggest difference is the look of the interior. We wanted a “nautical” look, so we paneled the walls and ceiling in lightweight medium walnut and trimmed with light walnut. We upholstered the top bars that support the seal section on the bottom unit, and tiled the floor.

It’s been in California and Nevada, so it isn’t rusty and hasn’t seen much rain, and there is no evidence of leaks. Previous owner, out of caution, sealed around the windows on the outside, so there is visible silicone.

Mechanically, it has been well maintained, with new brake shoes and magnets, nearly new tires with TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor), two new batteries/wires, junction box, cable, and brake cable. The cables and hydraulic cylinder were regularly checked and oiled. Hitch has anti-sway setup. I towed this trailer with a Tahoe that didn’t know it was towing a trailer – so LIGHT, easy and smooth. The Hi-lo advantage is that it collapses enough to fit in my garage, and that’s where it is stored. If you live in a tight HOA community, you will love the ability to hide the trailer in your garage and not have to store it elsewhere.

Externally this trailer is very good, but both end caps have some brittle cracking that has been caulked to maintain the seal. The awning is ok - works fine but fabric is showing its age.

With all the upgrades, we are asking $6800. All clean and ready to roll. If interested, the trailer is available for viewing in Las Vegas, NV. PM me for pictures.
