Looking to buy - North Texas+ area

Hi everyone,

New member here and after a fair amount of RV/trailer research, my wife and I believe a Hi-Lo will be a perfect fit for us. We're in the Dallas area, but would be willing to drive 400 miles or so. I'm thinking in the $5k range for price, and would prefer one in pretty good working order.

We're looking for a lightweight trailer, preferably shorter than 24 ft. Our tow vehicle is a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, and is rated to tow 5000lbs, but I want a lighter weight trailer to avoid struggling on mountain passes and to keep the MPG up. If anyone has one they're willing to part with, please let me know!

Thanks,
Christian

Welcome to the forum

You might have to wait until the spring to pick up a used unit. Be sure to use the buyers check list. One is out there with your name on it.

Hey there. It's not exactly what you're looking for but we'd be willing to part with our '96 22' Funchaser for $5k. dry weight is 3700. You could look into shipping costs if interested. It's in really great shape everything works. We did remove the old broken awning though. let me know if you want to consider it. No leaks and no fading like some of the ones down south. We have a calmark cover for it.

we're in the Seattle area.

Have a 22’ HiLo we would part with

We own a 22’ HiLo Tow Lite that we love. We are wanting to move up to a 28’ HiLo. We pull our HiLo with an older Ford Expedition with no problems. We have towed our trailer from Oregon to Mississippi and back twice. Yes, we are further away than 400 miles but we get to Mississippi each year and pass through Texas - we have relatives in the Ft. Worth area. If you are still in the market later this winter or early next spring let us know and we could swing by and let you take a look. You can contact me at cascadetamara@gmail.com. Good luck, you will enjoy a HiLo!

I have a 2004 Hi-Lo TowLite 24T that's in the 4000-4500# range. Tandem axle, and tows absolutely beautifully even with my Lexus GX470 (about the same size as a Pathfinder, just with a V8 engine). I am asking a bit more than your asking price, but over the last 6 months or so, I have COMPLETELY gone through the entire trailer. Brand new Dometic A/C unit with heat strip about 4 months ago, had all of the wheel bearings not just re-packed, but actually replaced because I don't want any issues on the road. Rebuilt the entry door due to a window leak that caused some rotted wood (I completely rebuilt the core of the door, myself). All of the lights inside the unit have been swapped with LEDs. Battery is quite new. I added a semi-hidden cutoff switch for the deep cycle battery so that the CO2 detector and radio doesn't drain the battery when you have the unit being stored/not used. Tires are upgraded D-range and brand new just a few months ago, with only about 3500 miles on them at this point (I did a TON of maintenance before my wife and I and our newborn son took a nice 3+ week trip out west to New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah with the trailer about a month ago. Even in sub-freezing temperatures and snow that we encountered, we stayed very comfortable and everything worked 100% perfectly in the trailer. Water heater, furnace, etc, etc. I'd even be willing to meet you part-way to Dallas with the trailer, if you ended up deciding to buy it.

I'd like to get $8500 for it, but it's been thoroughly gone-through.

The only reason I'm (regretfully) selling the Hi-Lo is we bought a larger trailer due to needing more space with the little one that we just had. Otherwise, it is a wonderful trailer, and I know I'll likely never find another that's been as well-kept.

If interested, just PM me with your contact info and I can give you a call to discuss further.

Congratulations to the new parents.

Best of luck with all your baby adventures. From your HiLo description it sounds like a well maintained unit. Hope you find a buyer.

Christian, I have a good, fully functional, 22 foot Hi-Lo 'Funrunner' for sale in Show Low, AZ. This trailer is a veteran of a 3000 mile trip to Tropical Mexico, as well as many adventures within the U.S. I have her for sale here in Show Low for $4500...I know I'm 800 miles (twice your desired distance) away, here in eastern AZ...However, I might-could be willing to deliver her to Dallas, for a total of $5000; if we could work out such an equitable arrangement with mutual integrity. Sincere Cheer, 'Gear' (928) 207-1201
