Wanted: Hi Lo to sleep 6
I am looking for a lighter hi lo model that sleeps 6 to buy for my family. Please respond if you have one for sale. It must have a GVWR of under 6500lbs. Thanks!

Still searching daily for a hi-lo with tilt-out sofa bed, dinette bed, and swing away bunk. Open to other configurations that sleep 6+. Tow vehicle is a Yukon XL. Open to suggestions other than marketplace, craigslist, ebay, camper finds, this forum...Thank you for any tips!

Hi I have 2000 24TD that I may be interested in selling

Things to consider when needing sleeping for six.
We tried sleeping two adults on the dinette. It was very uncomfortable and crowded. I think the bunk has a weight restriction that would only work for young children. Best of luck in a rig that will work for your family.

I've searched the posts for the weight limit of the drop down bunk; have seen 350# (stated from the manufacturer) and 200# (mentioned by a forum member). Since we bought our 2006 Towlite used, we never spoke to a salesman and have not found anything printed in the owner's manual.
Looking at the mechanism I can't imagine putting 350 movable pounds on it; 2 medium sized children perhaps. |
I'm with you, sojourner! We've put our Grandchildren up there when they were younger. I weigh just under 200# and I would not want to get up there. I certainly would not want to be under it with a 350# behemoth up there.

We've got a 1999 TowLite in Racine, WI we'd like to sell. We're asking $3,500. You can see pictures here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/zqkHhTdunMjs4Nsz7. Two on the front couch, two on the back (almost full size) bed, one on the dinette, and one on the drop-down bunk. Like the others were saying, I'd put the lightest person on the bunk, just to be safe.
Things to know: There's a bow in the wood frame from when a cable snapped right after we got it. We replaced the cable and had no trouble. There's also some water damage in the roof because of a bad hailstorm. We've patched it up and again, not had any issues since. I've got a thread submitted in the for sale section, I'll update when it gets approved. |
Congrats on selling it jbsaff

I thought the pull-down bunk had a weight capacity of over 200 lbs.? Like 250 or something. Mine looks pretty solid but I would need a ladder to get up there and check it out. I could be wrong. There is a lot of different info. out there seems like.
