I'm not building them but I built my own over the last year. I know that finding one will be tough and what you find will need to be completely renovated.

I'm willing to share my ideas, all it takes is a willingness to get your hands dirty.

We are planning to hit the road this summer, my foam and canvas sleeper has two bunks, wifey and really like each other but bunks are easier than a big bed to convert into a couch.

Couple questions: 1) what do you use to raise it? I saw strut brace but would appreciate if you explained. 2) How heavy is the finished trailer?

There is an article at Do It Yourself RV by Christine Nellerman (foam trailer builds)that outlines my project, the struts you see are linear actuators purchased from Progressive Automations, that move 30 inches, the trailer weighs in at 1200 lbs, I tow with a PriusV and still get 25 ish mpg.

I cantilevered 6 inches past the 4 foot width and 2 feet longer, most building supply trailers are 4-500 lbs so take that into concideration on your build. I designed my frame from the axle up in a boat trailer configuration to save weight.
