1964 Hi Lo

I was glad to see your 64 Hi Lo pics. Love the vintage trailers! Have you seen my previous posts and pics about our 64 homemade trailer that looks similar to yours? We have replaced tires and leaf springs and are currently on the process of replacing the roof gasket (the seal between the upper and lower half of the trailer) and the cables. After that we will be working on the interior, hoping to get camping-ready by spring. I would be very interested to hear more about the types of repairs you are doing.

The paneling was separating on the upper half. I did a quick glue and paint job on the upper walls. I really need to replace the paneling and any rotted framing. Not to worried I can not accomplish it, just not sure how to start. I was thinking I may have to put the top on supports and remove the lower portion to do the work and replace the seal. The frame, brakes, and all the bottom portion are in great shape. I haven,t seen your pics. I'll go check them out. These are great little trailers. I sure wish there were some photos of doing this job. I'm excited to get started. Thanks for the encouragement. Don

64 roadie (hilo)

I posted pictures with 64 roadie showing how we blocked up the upper half with 4x4's. We plan one doing the gaskets and cables this weekend.

I just bought a 76 which is a really good shape , according to the manual this 1 has a all metal frame! I will have to look at some of the paneling but would like to know the easiest way to replace seal & where to get the seal material ?
