Default Adco with DuPont Tyvek Top Panel Cover

Did some searches here and believe the Adco covers do a fairly good job of covering and protecting the Hi-Lo TT. They are less expensive......under $250 for a 22' like we have. I also understand the Sunbrella covers are better and more expensive.

What can you tell me about this Adco cover with the DuPont Tyvek panel? We live in Houston where it can get pretty hot and humid. We need a cover that can give us good sun and moisture protection.

Should we consider the less expensive Adco, look for a used Sunbrella or open our billfolds and get a new Sunbrella or other quality cover?

Thanks in advance for your help in the past. We're getting to know our Hi-lo and have received some double-takes/looks and a few compliments on our 1989 22' Funchaser with 1 trip to Discount Tire for some new wheels and 1 trip to Galveston Island State Park for a flounder gigging trip (got 4 flatties!)

You should go with the Sunbrella because it gives good sun protection and is breathable so there is no trapped moisture. That moisture can do a lot of damage to a trailer. Sunbrella is good material and should hold up for a long time and be cheaper in the long run. Be sure to pad corners, etc. so they don't wear holes in the material.

Default Sunbrella cover

I agree with Rich R. Just bite the bullett and get a sunbrella cover. It will save you so much agrivation. You won't have sun fade to your roof and fiberglass. I wish we had done this when we picked up our used unit. Isn't hindsight a great thing!! Your christmas present to your self. I dought you will be able to find a used sunbrella cover. Tellanyone that admires your HiLo that you bought it from a munchkin and got it for half price.

We're going to start looking for a Sunbrella based on your advice. Do you know any places on-line with reasonable prices?

I have had 2 adco covers and while they did replace them free of charge, their average lifespan was 8 months.

Default "average lifespan was 8 months"

that's quite a recommendation; believe that I'd pass on it.

Strong UV sun in Colorado (?) and winds caused them to tear. I am not sure what cover would stand up to 50MPH winds.

Default Sunbrella

Good fishin' 89 Hi-Lo. Does anyone know it Sunbrella makes a cover for a 33 footer, or will I have to have one custom made? By the way, what part of Houston do you live in? We live in Sugar Land which ain't that far away. Maybe we could get together sometime and swap tall tales about fishing and camping. I would really like to have someone to compare notes with about what maintenance you have had to do and what you want to do.

Talk to you later.

Default Sunbrella cover

Last year I priced a sunbrella cover at camping world for our 25ft. 1990. It was going to be $900.00 plus shipping and tax. Way over budget. We were extremely lucky to find a HiLo owner that had sold their HiLo and had a sunbrella cover for sale. It really does look brand new as it was used only 2or 3 times. It even came with a patch kit. Search the internet for a good price on a sunbrella. The covers usually go on sale in the fall. You probably can get a boat shop/awning place to make you a custom cover out of sunbrella fabric. Perhaps they can do it for you in their off season. Let them do the measuring.
