Alignment guides?

We are doing a rebuild on a 1998 TowLite and are needing a new one of these. Any suggestions on where we could find one and what exactly it is called? It connects to the top and slides on the outside rails on the bottom 1/2 to keep the top aligned. Sorry I cannot upload a picture but one of ours is broken.

Sounds like you are referring to guide blocks, which are available from Midget RV and Trailer Service. Joel is a former Hi-Lo employ. He is located in Ohio.
Top half of trailer has to be separated from bottom half for installation.

Thank you

I’ve seen guide blocks replaced by using a 2x4 between the top and bottom halves to gain working space.

Welcome to the forum

I've been away camping. This is a good document to look up. It shows you how to break the halves apart for cable replacement. Also for seal replacement and repairs. 3-3-2010 Cable replacement in my 1998 HiLo 24td.

Thanks guys, you have been very helpful. We do have to replace both cables on the back side.

Teresa, As long as you are replacing the rear cables, replace the front cables also. As the saying goes, “a chain is as strong as it’s weakest link”.

Where to get Hi-Lo Parts

I rebuilt a 1994 21 foot HiLo and I ordered some parts from J & R TRAILER REPAIR [jrrepair@centurylink.net] They probably have it. Check them out.
