Almost Farewell!

Most of you don’t know or remember me, but I feel like I know most of you regular members pretty well. I first bought my 1901T in 2012 and relied on you all to get me up to speed for a too-fast cross-country trip—which went off flawlessly, I might add. Since then, I used the HiLo only once 2 years ago for 3 days on some remote acreage I own. The trailer has sat covered in my yard since that time. I just posted it for sale in another section of the Forum.

But although I have ignored the trailer, I haven’t ignored the HiLo Forum. In fact, you all have been a part of my life every day, unknown to you. First I eat my lunch, then make a cup of dark Pacific Northwest coffee, and sit in my recliner to fire up my iPad. Reading the Forum has gotten to be such a ritual, that I commonly remark to my wife, “You will be happy to know the HiLo Forum people are being nice to each other.” She views my remarks kind of whimsically, but I have to tell her again and again, because being nice to each other seems to have become a rarity in the current world. You all are evidence that good people are still doing good things, and it gives me hope for the future.

Thank you! And I mean that in great sincerity, for treating each other with such kindness and respect. You welcome newcomers with generosity, treat malcontents with patience, and always have an eye on how to help someone get further on down the road. Without putting too much of a point on it, that is The Golden Rule in action.

I am assuming I will sell my HiLo fairly quickly; it is in beautiful shape for a 16-year-old trailer. When that happens, my logical reason to read the Forum will be gone, and I probably will be like General MacArthur said of old soldiers, and, “Just fade away.” But in case I do fade away, I want to say once more to you regular posters, and you know who you are: Thank You!

With best wishes,

Ron

What a nice post

Just got back from vacation and am playing catch up on the forums. Good luck in selling your HiLo.

The trailer is gone ... probably me too!

I am not sure I can give up my HiLo Forum habit, but with my trailer gone, my logical reason to be here is gone.

I don't participate in forums, as a rule. Probably too new-fangled an idea for me. But as I said previously, you all seem like nice folks, so I hung around. I don't know whether you know it or not, but collectively, you are a smart bunch.

Thank you for the HiLo education, and your lessons in daily living.

Best wishes to you all,

Ron

Thank you Ron - glad your trailer got sold quickly. Hope you got your asking price for it.

I should have indicated in the original post how much I sold my 1901TL for, Jack, but didn't think of it. That thread is closed now, so I will put it here. I was asking $5000, and it sold for $5000. The trailer is in terrific shape and the price was at the low end, so the price was not negotiable. Someone got a deal, especially considering that everything needed to hook up and go was there for that price.

Ron,
What a wonderful post Ron. New here, and have many interests and forums I visit, and you're right about the status of civility and good will on some of them. If you leave here, and participate elsewhere, others will be fortunate. Your participation will improve the quality and humanity of wherever you land!
