Usually there was a tag on the inside of one of the cabinets with the model number and serial number and also on many, a tag/ label with the same info on the outside of the top half, driver side at the front of the top half. If you got the registration paperwork from the previous owner, the info will be there. The serial number or part of it was usually stamped into the top of frame just below the propane tanks usually painted over. If you find the model number it will give you the length of the trailer, year of manufacture and type of HiLo such as TL (towlite), C(classic) or floorplan. My HiLo is a 2805C. This shows it is 28feet, manufactured in 2005 and is a classic. As for the broken cables, you can get them from J&R repair. You can find there info here on the forum. There is also info and I think a video on the forum on how to replace them. If you are unable to find the model/SN info, If the HiLo had an old license plate on it you can try to go back to the state of issure and see if they will give you the model/SN that is on the old regestration. Others here on the forum with older HiLo may be able to help with finding the info. Good luck

Default Replacing broken cables

Welcome to the forum. You will have to know the year and model of your HiLo to order cables from JR or Midget. Both places are in Ohio. How to replace cables is outlined in a post by Sam Shields dated Feb 14,2010. This is at least an 8hr. job of DIY. Another post by Sam Shields outlines how to break the HiLo halves apart for replacing roof gasket. 4-3-2010. Sam is a retired service manager at a HiLo dealership. I would suggest that you replace all four cables at the same time. You wouldn't want to have to do this repair again in later years. Hope you are handy. Another excellent post is fifteen pages . 3-3-2010 Cable replacement in my 1998 HiLo 24TD. This includes color pictures and very detailed tools descriptions. If your seal is shot you may want to replace this after you do the cable replacement. That would be the seal between the top and bottom half. Keep the questions coming.
