Buckled Fiberglass Siding
I’m looking at newer HiLo’s (for me, I own a 97 26RD) around the 06 and up and almost all of them have side fiberglass buckles in them (separation of outside fiberglass from inner wall).. is that a common issue and what causes that.. My 97 is as solid as can be.. I’m thinking of just keeping what I have.. I really wanted a tip out.
Thanks. |

Yes, it is water damage as cva34 states.

Not always water damage. I caused it on my 24T when i tried to lower it when the room extension was out. Dumb mistake, I know. Its not really that bad just a slight bubble. I was thinking I could pop rivit it back in with caulking if I knew where the studs were. I am afraid to mess with it, you would not notice it unless I pointed it out to you. I will take any suggestions as to possible fixes. I know it is definitely not a water issues as this was my brothers trailer and he maintained it well.

My 1999 2299L Classic has no evidence of any buckles. It spent most of it's life in Southern California and I live in Eastern Idaho, also a very dry area. No evidence of any leaks.
I would suspect water damage too, but I don't know if there was a difference in the way the panels were constructed in more recent years. If so, that may be a consideration. It seems to me that in some other ways, some of the newer Hi-Lo's were not built quite as well. Just speculation here, though. Roger |
Thanks for all the feedback...
