Default Couch size

Anyone that has a Hi Lo model with the 2 couches that fold down to one bed that may be able to give me the measurements on them? I need upper half, lower half, and width of both when in bed position. Thinking of making some changes in my Hi Lo as my couch folded down is 1" wider than a twin bed. Not optimal for 2 people.

Default bed measurements

My HiLo is covered in winter storage. I have the two couches in the back in the bed position. There is a tight walk space between them. I'm thinking you want measurements on a king size bed. In other words no space between the couch beds.

Here is a 2000 Towlight brochure that shows several bed layouts for king size type beds. http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f52/...brochure-1661/

There is still a space between these beds when they are folded down? I know that can't be right but picturing someone falling through the gap while asleep paints a mighty funny picture. LOL. Seems like the measurement in the lower section from wall to wall in mine is 80 inches. But in looking at jacknife couches for sale, 2 of them folded down is like 84 inches. So I would need to find some in the same size used by Hi Lo. May be something that would have to be custom made in order to fit. Thats why I was asking for upper and lower cushion sizes.

Default couches to beds

It is my understanding that some couches do unfold and make a complete bed with no aisle way. Our layout has DH and DW on separate open couch beds. Neither one of us has fallen out of the bed into the aisle way. The couches are uncomfortable in the crack and we have added custom mattresses on top of the couch. Our beds remain made up all the time. We toyed with the idea of retrofitting and making one king size bed. This would have us loosing access to the under couch storage.

Oh it actually is 2 beds then. Sorry I didn't know they did that. I was referring to the ones that make one large bed. That's what I meant about it being funny. If you have a large bed with a gap in the middle that wouldn't work too well. They must have used many couch sizes in these Hi Los. But I was interested in the 2 couches that fold into one bed. Thanks Sam.

Our 1705T had the king bed that made up from the dinette and side couch. You could slide the couch over to meet the dinette for a full king size bed or you could slide it part way an leave a gap between the two and have two narrower beds. Here is the 2005 brochure where you can see the 17 foot layout. http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f52/...-2005-hi-lo-7/

Default couches to king size bed

When we first looked at purchasing our HiLo the salesman told us the couches went into a king size bed. We were disappointed that this wasn't the case. One time I rolled off our queen bed in our S&B onto the floor. Talk about abruptly waking up. It was a miracle I didn't crack my head open on the corner of the large night stand. Only my pride was hurt.

I love the dinette/couch option Rich. I never thought of that but could be a much simpler option to my remodel and save me some money. Glad you shared that. Gotta take some measurements when I get home from work. They had so many different floorplans in these things and seems like i like them all better than mine. LOL

Default making a couch/bed

Misfit is a carpenter and I'm sure he will be able to fab up something for his HiLo. It would be expensive to ship from California to Texas.

I want to remove the lower cabinets from the side and move the kitchen to the front. Then put the couch where the cabinets were and I believe I would have the couch/dinette combo that would work. Would just have to slide out of the bed into the bathroom in the middle of the night. LOL. That will also let me build my own cabinets for the kitchen and make it more user friendly.

And you shall have them...if I can find time to do it. May be a couple of months as I have a lot on my plate for the next couple.
