Our '96 trailer does not have a swich for turning off the fan. It is extremely humid outside today and the fan has been running all day.

installing a switch

You can install a togle switch on the fan very easly. On the back side of the refg. go to the fan cut one of the wires and splice in wiring long enouch to reach a place to install a togle switch to cut the fan on and off with.

Expected battery life?

What is the expected battery life for the Marine/RV batteries???
Is it about the same as it is for your typical auto battery (4-5 years more or
less). And I guess that would effect its ability to hold a charge??

If they get deeply discharged, you are going to find they probably last only a couple of years, if that. In spite of the fact that they are called "deep cycle", they do not like to be operated that way. I do my very best to keep them at or above the 2/3 charge mark when camping. I have a 1000 Watt Honda generator that I use daily - a couple hours in the morning and again in the evening.
