Recommendations for fixing caulking along roof edge
 

I have a rubber roof. Along the edge of the roof, it looks like I may have to reseal the caulking. Starting to get a few gaps.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I should fix it? Would It be better to resealed the entire roof and let some of the sealant go over the roof line a little bit or force Some new caulking into the gaps?

What products do you recommend?

If the roof has not been resealed in several years you should clean and reseal the entire roof. Be sure to use products that are for a rubber roof. Many products state that they are not for rubber roofs. I am not sure if HiLo used a different product to seal the edge but you should be able to tell if they did. Dicor makes many products for roof repair. There is lots of info online and camping world on resealing roofs.

So, does that mean I just let the re-sealer go over the edge of the roof to seal in the gaps or force caulking along the edge and just reseal the top of the roof or do both???

I figure I will need to re-tape along the side of the roof to get a straight line.

Rubber roof maintenance Caulking
 

Our HiLo has a rubber roof. DH says to maybe use a plastic scrapper or plastic caulk removal tool to remove all old caulk. Use Dicor self levelling caulk to the part that touches the rubber roof. Use Lexel caulk for other areas that don't touch the rubber roof. Such as windows ect. The next day was the roof and coat with rubber roof sealer. Blue painters tape will give you a crisp paint line. Remove the tape as soon as you are done coating. Follow all the direction on the can. You will probably need to prime and apply two coats of top coat. It is a bit of a pain,but it will look new again. Some of the old caulk will just pull off in pieces. Be very careful not to slip and put a tear in the rubber roof. I hope this makes some sense for you. Some wash the roof with simple green or other general washing products. Let the roof dry real good before coating. New roofs are very expensive. It will be worth the time and effort.
