Default Replacing Tongue hitch on 2004 HI LO, model 22T

I'm looking at replacing my manual tongue hitch with an electric one. I have a 2004 HI LO, model 22T. The trailer weight is about 4,000 lbs and the tongue weight is 490 lbs.

I am considering getting the Barker Deluxe 3000 lb or 3500 lb tongue hitch. It has a 2 1/4 shaft. Will that work on my HI LO?

Also, any recommendations on which one I should get would be appreciated. I'm leaning towards the 3000 since it is about $100 cheaper. I do have a sway bars.

The HiLo optional tongue jack used an Atwood 3500#. We have had them on both of our trailers and have had no problems. They are bolt on with one hot wire to the battery. The 3500# is recommended for lifting to add equalizer bars on the hitch. They appear to now come in 3K and 4K models. Power Jacks - Atwood Mobile

Thanks for the information on the Atwood 3K and 4K models. I'm leaning to get the 4K model. It is over $100 cheaper than the Barker model, and it has a better warranty.

Would you happen to know what size hitch post the 4K is. Is it 2 1/4" or 2". I'm not sure what size I need for my HI LO trailer, but I assume the ones you recommended above are the correct post size. I don't want to re-drill any holes. Thanks..

Hi Ken, I'm not Rich, but according to the specs on the E-Trailer website: Atwood Premier Performance Series Power Jack w/ Robofoot - A-Frame - 18-3/4" Lift - 4K - Black Atwood Trailer Jack AT81069, the diameter of the outer tube is 2 3/16".

Looks a good device!

I'm not sure and the trailer isn't here to measure.

Ken,

This is what I replaced my manual tongue jack with. I'm happy with it.
