Default Safety bar on 1986 fun chaser came through the floor

How did the safety bar on my 1986 Hi-Lo punch a hole in the floor in front of the stove? I lent it to a friend and it came back with a flat bar with a folded up looped end of it protruding through the floor. Once I get it out, where do I find a replacement and how do I get the safety bar back in? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like it could have been operator error. parts are available at the links below. Good luck.

Have you checked to see if the guide rod is bent as well? My late Hi-Lo dealer friend had one come in with a bent bar that came up through the floor. I would suspect lack of maintenance could have been a contributing factor. Keeping things cleaned and lubed under there goes a long ways toward carefree operation, and is a must do.
