Switches - Hi-Lo camper travel trailer forum

I have just acquired a 1997 tow lite and I have figured most of the switches out. There is one switch by the front door on the bottom next to the pull cord and the power cord for the lift. It is a three way switch. position 1 lets me turn on the lights. the other positions seem to do nothing and have no power to the lights.
Any help?

The middle position is the "traveling" position. All interior devices are disconnected except for the refrigerator and the top cannot be raised or lowered.

The bottom position is the top up/down position. The refrigerator is still connected, but the interior lights, furnace, etc. are all disconnected. The switch has to be here to raise or lower the top.

Your position 1 disables the top raise/lowering too, and it's the "live inside" position.

We have a 24' '98 Classic and I'm wondering what the two switches are to the right of the sink, mounted more or less on the left side of the refrigerator? We have never had water in the system because of winter so I suppose one might be the water pump, but what about the other?

It may be your fridge vent fan.
Mine was also unmarked, not even which way was on or off. Displaying bright red I found was ON.

On my 2207T, the 2 switches on the left side of the refrigerator, to the right of the sink, are for the water heater (1 is for electric operation and the other is for gas operation). The switches for the refrigerator fan and water pump are on the right side of the refrigerator.

Thanks, gives me something to look into. I didn't even know the fridge had a vent fan.

The fan provides additional ventilation and allow your RV refrigerator to reach cooling temperature faster and operate cooler.

Our 1996 Towlite did not have a refrigerator fan. On the other hand, that fridge was the coldest I have ever encountered. When it was on electricity, it froze the lettuce and other veggies, so we had to keep them in an ice chest.

We also had to light the pilot light to the water heater from the outside. On the newer trailers, you there is a switch near the fridge that lights the gas or electric water heaters.

One of the switches is to turn on the water pump for when you are using water from the tank.

Your second switch is probably an electric booster to your hot water heater or a fridge fan. Both options that were not in my 1996 Towlite.

If your fridge does have the vent fan and you turn the switch on and nothing happens, don't worry, it is temperature controlled and only comes on when needed.

First off, many thanks for all the info. Second, we have a '97, not a '98 like I typed. Seems like 65 year old fingers type whatever they darned well please!
