tilt out room frame work.

Does anyone have a drawing or photo showing the frame work inside the walls of the tilt out room on a 2806C. I would like to add two round windows, one on each end of the tilt out room but don't want to cut into any frame work if I can help it.

I can understand your reasoning for installing side windows in your tip out, but I would refrain from doing so. In my opinion, any cutting into the structure of the tip out would compromise the strength and structural integrity of the tip out unit. I am not an engineer, but that is my opinion.

Tip out adding windows.

I agree that this would not be a good idea. We recommend that all HiLos have the windows removed. Reseal with butyl tape and use Lexel caulk on the exterior. Many of us have had water damaged walls because we didn't do this window maintenance step.

Thanks for the replies but if I am not cutting through any framing then all I should be cutting through is the inner and outer skin. Then an eight or ten inch round window would be installed much like all the other windows which would should give the inner and outer skin more support since they would be held together with the window frame and butyl tape. I am just trying to figure out where the framing members are in those end walls of the tip out.

Good luck with the windows. Right now the exterior of the sides you want to install windows in, are flat, smooth sides. With windows added the protruding window frame could possibly wear the weather stripping much faster than the smooth side. I do like your idea, just not sure if I would want to risk any damage to the side panels.
