Default Tacoma

Does anyone tow using a Toyota Tacoma? Have a 2805C with a loaded weight of around 7000lbs. GMC two vehicle is getting a little age on it and I am considering replacing it. Like the thought of the new Toyota Tundra diesel coming out later this year but I was just wondering if a Tacoma would suit my needs? Thanks in advance for any experiences using a Tacoma or what it will tow. Was thinking a 4 wheel drive.
God Bless

I'm towing with a toyota tacoma V6 4door long bed pre-runner 2wd which has a tow rating of 6500lbs (which is the same as the 4wd) As rule I only tow 80% of the truck rating. I'm towing a 2206 towlite at 4000lbs. I would not tow anything larger because the size of the truck. I've towed in five different states, one with 45 mph cross winds and a 12,000ft pass in colorado with no problems. But I had do few mods, added a larger charge line and a larger transmission cooler.
Your 28ft classic is to large for a tacoma, you might think you could do it but you have to think about safety of others on the road

Les,
Thanks for your reply. I was afraid that would be the case. But I had to ask in case there was something I was missing. I owned a small Toyota truck (before they named it Tacoma) and I loved it. Little 4 cyl. got me 27 MPG on the highway . I'm thinking for the 2805C I'm going to need to stick with a larger truck. I agree with you on the 80% rule. Thanks again for your help.
God Bless
