Just wanted to start my build thread. Here's some pics of the camper as I picked it up today.

Your 69 is in better shape than my 88. They just built things better back then. Did I mention that's the year I was born? LOl. Love the floor plan.

me too, it's very open compared to a lot of the campers I looked at. Nice and simple. The only thing I'm changing is the length of the back bed

Started gutting the trailer. Removed the furnace, stove, sink and faucet, eventually the fridge is coming out as well. Moving the configuration around a bit so I can have a queen bed in the back.







I'm also going to put the fridge, stove and furnace in the classifieds, for free, if any of you are near ohio, and need them, you can come get them. I plan on putting a 110 fridge in as the only time I will need a fridge is when I have power. I'm also going to put the sink back in at my wife's request.

Look forward to seeing the end results and that was probably a very smart move putting the sink back in.

Finally got the galley and dresser shortened and the rear bed is now a queen sized bed.








Just have to reassemble the cabinet and put new countertops in place and replumb the sink

Your 69' is in great shape.. I am rebuilding a 71' that I started back in Feb this year, but it needs much more...

Rebuilt the sink cabinet and removed the old fridge today. Found lots of muddobber and wasp nests that were still active! Surprising there wasn't some sort of screen material behind the grates. Hardest part was getting the old fridge out the door. I had to remove the lower door and the trim on one side of the door and also the door of the fridge to get it out of the trailer.

Guitarman, Lookin better all the time. What's your next steps?

installing a block off panel on the outside of the trailer where the fridge grate was, sanding all the cabinets and walls to prep for paint, and adjusting the height of the cables since it's about two inches off in total height. I'll be pulling all the windows and the roof vent and side caps where the roof meets the sides and resealing eventually. Not sure if I'll be able to do that all at once and then paint since I only have a tarp keeping the water out now.

Guitarman, to you and Misfit and all the others that are in the process or completed refurbs, hats off to all of you for your amazing accomplishments.

Looking good guitarman. I sure wish mine had the dinette in the front instead of the sofa. I even thought of changing their positions but the sofa is too long to go where the dinette is. So it is what it is and I will make the best of it. Does your trailer have any toilet facility in it? Keep up the good work man!

Actually yes, there's a slide out cabinet under the back bed that has a toilet in it. And it came with a full load in it! How nice of the seller Pretty sure I'm going to toss it and get a new one.

Just a quick update of the sanding I've been doing, quite a difference, pretty nice wood underneath the faded sticker paneling.

Yeah I know. I had to wonder why they didn't stain a bunch of that stuff. Would have been a lot nicer looking and probably had better staying power over time. I'm sure the cost of labor was the main factor but what a shame to cover nice wood like that with what is basically shelf paper.

probably not going to be as lucky on the rest of teh camper, most of it is pretty ugly plywood, so I'll probably just have to paint the cabinets.

My cabinet doors are real wood and were stained originally. They were stained again at some point through the years by someone who sanded the woodgrain the wrong way. Not much fixing that without taking down a lot of wood. Hence the brown paint. I like it though.
