Default New to us hi-lo

Well my wife and I just picked up a 1988 hi-Lo funchaser. Other than a good cleaning. It’s in decent shape. This is the one I had asked about that had gone thru a flash flood and had around 9” water in it. Floor is good and solid as I checked it over both top and bottom and have not found any soft spots in this flood happened back in gas last fall. Granted some of the appliances were in a little bit I’m not too concerned about that if I don’t work as I’ve got another camper that is in bad shape floor and roof wise that almost new that I can swap out the water heater and furnace. Having to stay in town because the tires are a little weather checked and I don’t want to be driving at 400 miles on the tires that I have on it so I ordered some new tires and I will be in tomorrow hopefully by noon and then we can be on our 400 mile trip back home. Meanwhile we are going to clean it up a bit and stain it tonight. The pump works going up no problem I just put a jumper cables off my truck to it and it worked great the solenoid I think it was either missing a wire or it’s just not working for going down but the manual override allows it to come down. That was music to my ears when I heard it.

Be aware of that box awning
Mine leaked where it mounts onto the wall and damaged the whole wall
Best thing to do is remove it , seal behind it and reinstall
Water collects in it

Default Best of luck with your New to you HiLo.

Welcome to the forum. When you put on new tires get them balanced if possible. Have a safe trip home.

That's a nice looking camper, Blue. Sounds like you may have gotten a "deal"! *thumbsup*

Campthewestcoast gave you good advice regarding the awning. You want to prevent water damage, not fix it!
