Default Hurricane Sandy.

Just wanted to say I hope all are safe and don't suffer any flooding. NY has been declaired a state of emergency. The most we should get is lots of rain and some high winds. Possibly the power could be knocked out by falling trees. Our truck is in the body shop for the week. What a time for dh to be hoofing it to work and back. More like getting blown home. We are prepared with a kerosene heater, gas stove, flashlights ect. We've only had an extended power outage twice in 30 yrs. Our camping skills come in handy.

Sam.

We will keep you and all our Forum friends in our prayers until Sandy vents her anger and eventually calms down. God Bless and watch over each and all of you.

Default Thanks for the prayers.

My sister lives in Northern N.J. and my other sister lives along lake ontario in Barker,N.Y. Last time we had a bad storm it tore a huge tree out and dammaged the front of their house. They were on a borrowed generator for a month. Our HiLo friends have a cottage real close to lake Ontario. This five minutes from my sister in Barker. Anyway,we have been watching the extensive news coverage. Right now it is raining steady and the wind kicks up in intensity. My husbands boss gave him a ride home from work and will pick him up each day. I pray all are safe.

Default 2 people in Pa die needlessly so far

Just watched the news on WNEP channel 16 and 2 people have died needlessly because they ran their generators in their garage. What a shame. Any of you running a generator, that includes me. don't run it near your house or your camper. Use a LONG heavy duty extension cord and get it away from your home or camper.

Default Sandy srorm dammage.

Sandy didn't do any dammage to Lake Ontario shore line or any areas around us.My sister in NJ is safe. She doesn't live near water. My mom called to check on them. Sunday school was canceled as was her husbands work in Newark. He has worked for Blue Cross of N.J. for over 25 yrs. His degree is in accounting but he is in negotiations for contracts. My sister is a special education aid at the local elementary school. Our heart really goes out to all those affected in Sandy. We see the devistation on the nightly news. I think it will take them years to rebuild. I hope all our HiLo friends are safe from dammage.Correction Sunday, school was canceled. Not sunday school was canceled(probably was also.)
