Hydraulic Lift System

We have a 2809C and need to tighten up the cables. Which of the outriggers do we place the 2x4 boards? There are 3 on the curbside and 2 on the street side? I still have just the 4 adjustment points.... but will probably put 2x4s on all 5 outriggers.... :)
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Here is the link for cable replacement and it explains the adjustments as well. Good luck!

Jim - That link shows placing the 2x4s at the ends of the top, with the bottoms of the boards over the frame. That will certainly work. I've placed my 4 boards on the two "endmost" outriggers (my trailer actually only has those four anyway), which gets the support nearest the ends. I doubt you would need a board on the middle outrigger on the curbside. I guess, since you have a 28 ft trailer, that middle outrigger is there to help support the somewhat weaker area near the door during travel.

A much easier way to adjust the cables is to lay your 2 x 4 horizontal on the tongue making sure the 2 x 4 extends over the frame. Lower the top onto the board so that the pads attached to the bottom side of the top rest on the board. This will give you enough slack in the cables to make necessary adjustments. If not enough slack, add another board. Same procedure applies for the rear adjustments. You can place boards on both ends at the same time if front and rear cables need adjusting. I did my adjustments this way for years. I watched a factory rep do this at a national rally years ago.
