Lift motor

I bought my trailer , used , with the lift motor loose ( not attached to the drawer that it is housed in ). The motor was not operating correctly due to leaks in the pump so i had too lift the top section by hand and i don't have an owners manual. Short story is i have repaired the leaky pump and I'm ready to attached it to the hydraulic lines. The question is, SHOULD the lift motor assembly be attached to the drawer A Frame so that it doesn't move while operating or does it need to be able to move while operating. I hope that makes sense. Any information is appreciated. Thanks,

Orca, by any means attach that motor. If possible, thru bolt it to a plate underneath. It should be as solid as possible. It may function while loose, but that wasn't how it was designed.

Orca, Lots of torque on that motor. Basically, a starter motor.
