Lift "Piston" for the hydraulic ram ~ 1999 29 C Also a replacement main door lock
 

looking for a replacement piston that goes into hydraulic sleeve for lift system. This is a 29 footer so pretty sure it may be a little larger? idk
learn me professor

If you haven't found your ram, if you have a hydraulic service company anywhere near where you live, they can probably fix you up. If you can't locate a service facility, call your local large tractor dealer (Case, Kubota etc.), they can probably point you in the right direction.

Well, Today I did an full assessment of the situation to see what had to be taken off.
Oh man. My hydraulic shaft...That buggah...is bent to all hell.
I looked at how to pull the whole assembly out.(Hydraulic sleeve and ram.) Looks like I have to remove the cables in the way of very small pass thru on carriage for the hydraulic unit. It has the cables run thru...going to get them out of way first. then I can have room to slide the whole hydraulic unit out. But will have to take all bushings off the sides of it so it will slide thru that small cable pass thru in the carriage frame that holds it it place. Not real impressed with the design. Was a shortfall in production if you ask me.
They could have figured out a slip fit mount for the hydraulics and with a separate cable guide. But it is all compacted together and just a fuster cluck. Oh well< guess it got the job done...Raise the roof.
Also have to figure out how to get separated threaded part (It broke off of push shaft) of the hydraulic ram out of the cable plate. the plate assembly where the four cables are moved by the ram.The shaft is threaded into the pulley plate. Mine broke off just flush with the plate. So. that will be fun. Have to take the cable pulleys OFF the plate so I can see if I can get the threaded end out of plate.
Its a mess. I got set up today under there...but didnt feel like dealing with the hydraulic fluid evac. so left it for another day...it is hot here in Hawaii...90s ...welcome to the day of living hell. I am at altitude on island...it isnt supposed to be this hot!
Maybe if the trades kick back in Ill get back under there. Will check local hydraulic shops...wish me luck~

The process is slow...out come. unknown,but the effort is without fail.

How did the ram get bent? Have you been cleaning and greasing the guide rod? That is quite often the culprit.

david, in the "search" header there is an outline to "remove and replace hyd lift cylinder". It's a "sticky" used for just this occasion. You MAY be able to remove that broken fitting on the cable head by drilling it from the cylinder side, take the nut off and use a larger "easy out" to remove the threaded portion.

It was a cool dark morning back in June in the foothills East of L.A. , I was overnighting in trailer/ had just shipped an F450 and another 27 footer the day before from Port of Long Beach. So I was relying on a transport driver to get me and my trailer to Long Beach. I flew back that day to Maui.
In L.A. You leave in the dark from 65 miles out, if you are lucky, you get to port By *8 am .
So my transport driver shows up. I get ready to drop the top. I yell out. Is everything out of the way ?
He says yes. Only thing. When you ship overseas, you can not ship full propane containers. So you remove them. Which, we had just done.
Carefully putting the hardshell Propane cover on top of the spare tire, ( battery/hydraulic area in most Hi Lo s) , Well I dont know what the guy was looking at when I said all clear? But the shell was still under the eave for the kitchen window. I went down,,,and heard a crunch...at the same time. The shaft was being bent below I suppose.

Being that, I had No coffee, no sleep night the before. It Was rough take off.
Now I was facing having to send it off like this...still half up and all cockeyed. The hitch end considerably higher then the other.
SThe Whole Point, I buy Hi Lo, is because I can cut my shipping costs by about 1/3 . Which, I can translate to the buyer.
Well, that trailer was over $7000 on shipping after they measured it at the port, Lucky for me, I had a good repoire with the booking agents and they gave me price by specs on trailer after explaining to them my dilemma.
Only cost $5100 So wheew. Dodged a bullet there!
Climber, I've done my share of easy out work....this one looks like the bolthead is frozen inside. will prep with oil and see what happens. Lots to do...aloha
