Default winch for lift

has anybody tried a winch to replace the pump and ram?

Kwd,
Yes, The Snyder Trailer Co. did it. Our 1967 Bon Voyage had a crank- up winch lift system. Worked reliably, and well, although it was a somewhat tedious job. (I know, since it was one of my jobs whenever we set up camp.

The ram on a friend of mine will not lift when trying the oil shoots out around the ram. Right now he is short of cash but He has a nice warn winch with power in and out which would not be hard to wire up to the factory switch with a relay set.
