Default try and find magnets for 78 hi-lo brakes

Hey there people, Did you all know that its near impossible to find the magnets for my 78 hi-lo's & older that have electric brakes.I wrote to hi-lo parts they say your outta luck they have searched for 2 years, their only suggestion was i'd have to replace both my axles then i could use the newer brake set up,with the new brakes you can pull the hub off and replace the whole deal in one shot.See the problem is the original brake hub is one piece with the spindle/axle and since finding magnets are rare to find replacing the axles is the only recourse, or tow it without the trailer brakes (not legal here in,N.Y.S.). Luckily for me my RV guy Goggled it and found me four in Arizona.Just wondering am i the only one that didn't know this about the brakes?????:

What brand axles are they? Dexter or AL-KO can be found just about anywhere.

Sorry, I miss read, thought it was a 98, Your trailer is 34 years old, I think others have had this problem also.

Not really, Hi-Lo just went out of business recently. The remaining/surviving parts store which one would presume they if anyone would know the nation wide availability for a wearable part such as magnets for the electric brakes given the fact now our only recourse besides selling the camper is to switch out the axles.Says there's little to know chance of finding any magnets anywhere. I got lucky & I've yet to see anyone write about this subject. I know there's plenty of 70's models out there .Thanks 4 the reply.
