Default Wheels

So......I just became owner of a 2004 27T...... I want to repack all the wheel bearings and replace the black plastic center hub protectors and metal caps....the wheels are white painted steelies with black plastic caps over the lug bolts. Are these Dexter axles? Can you direct me to a thread with information type and where to get parts?

Thank You !!!!

I recently purchased a 27T and want to check the axle bearings and grease. Just have not had the time. I do not know if these are Dexter axles but I previously replaced bearings and brakes on another trailer that I have. I learned that Dexter stamps their axles. It could be on the axle or on the back of the brake hub. Will attempt to locate this on my Hi-Lo when time permits.

On my 2005 HiLo the axles are Dexter with the torflex suspension. There is a tag on the axle that shows it is a Dexter. If you replace the dust cups do NOT use the E-Z lub cups. These are for axels that have been designed and built for that cup. If you put them on the standard axel you will pump the grease thru the grease seal onto the brakes and ruin them. These cups are also used on boat and utility trailers that have NO brakes. As far as I know HiLo did not use the E-Z lub hub/axle on their RVs. If your axles are Dexter go to their web site and see if you can download their operation maintenance service manual for the 600-8,000 lb axles.

I just checked the Dexter web site and they do have the owners manuals that can be downloaded.
