Default Removing old caulking.

I need to re-caulk the edge where the roof meets the wall, as well as continue down the front and rear to the frame. The old caulking is very stiff and I am having a very hard time removing it. I even tried a "caulking removal tool" from the store, and started ruining the tool.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to removing old caulking?

Thanks,
Jason

Other than a good sharp putty knife check out the powered multi tool. They have a putty knife blade for this tool. You just need to be careful to not puncher the roof, same with a hand putty knife. This tool is great to have around the house if you are a handyman. Harbor Freight and Northern Tool each sell a cheap one. If you rarely use it these will get you by. Sears, Lowes and Home Depot sell better ones by several manufactures. Sears also sells the Fein which is top of the line and expensive. If you have never seen one used and have a tevo recorder on your tv look for the Fein ad. This video really shows what this tool will do. You may find this ad online also. There are a lot of comments here on the forum on caulking so read up on them.

Great, thanks for the ideas! I don't have a garage and will try anything that may make the job quicker.
