Default Thanks for the UTube A&E awning fabric replacement.

Treeclimber, Thanks for posting about the fabric replacement on an awning. Can't believe they chose an all white fabric. When I had the awning off the RV I would have done some magic sponge cleaning. I always take and clean realy good when something is removed for repairs. OCD comes in handy.

Usagi, truth be told... Before installing, I laid the new awning out in the sun which helps to get the shipping wrinkles out. Here in SW FL we're in the 90's, so plenty of sun.
I applied 303 Protectant to one side, let it dry. Next day turned it over and did that side. I've used this product for years in the marine industry. One of the best for UV protection. Helps to keep the awning clean too. Later this winter, when I clean and seal the roof, I'll apply the sealant on the exposed area of the rolled up awning also.

Default I like your thinking.

On our new to us 1996 26 Ft. Classic we gave it a deluxe bath when we got it home. I used son of a gun on the awning. Agree that any protectant keeps it so much cleaner. I used 303 protectant on the body of the RV. Learned my lesson about setting the bottle of 303 on the back bumper and then lowering the HiLo. I might make a mistake once and try not to repeat it. We always get compliments on how clean our awning is. What color is your new awning?

sam, I personally like all white, but they're hard to come by at 17'-2'' so mine has a bit of camel at the outer end. White MAKES me keep it clean, and reminds me to do the minor maintenance required for the awning.
That video sure make it less complicated.

Good morning,
We have a 2005 24 T that needs a new awning. Where did you get the fabric and what is the link to the Youtube video for Hi Lo's?

elbrinkman, purchased my awning from amazon. Many sizes and color combos. Utube had an updated awning change method that worked great. For me, it was a one man operation, very simple. I knew I'd have to replace rivets so I was prepared. Other than a rivet gun the rest are basic tools. I used 2 good vise grips. One end is "locked" the other is removed, replace awning, replace end and turn, I think 10-12 turns, pin it and rivet the end. Unpin, Not quite that simple, but easy. I saved the video and checked during the operation. suggest you watch it several times.

Hi Treeclimber. We have a 24Towlite. What awning model did you buy? All the awning replacements we have seen are a deeper than a standard Hi-lo awning. Thanks I advance. With Covid we are just getting around to replacing it.

We bought SunWave Awning Fabric. As I know, It works efficiently well with Carter, Carefree, and A&E awning frames.
