Default leak between water heater & hot water tank

1997 Tow=Lite any directions or advice on how to access this leak will be welcome. I cant find where the hot water tank attaches to the floor or where ever. I think I need to remove the LP water heater from the outside ?

The hot water heater and tank are a single unit and you will have to remove the whole unit to look for the leak. If the leak is in the heater/tank, it may have frozen and caused a crack, or the tank may have rusted out. The leak could also be in the plumbing in the area that it connects to the heater.

If your 97 is the same as my 95 with the couch in the front and the hot water heater under the left side, I can tell you exactly how to remove the hot water heater, also the tank should be aluminum and if it is cracked it can be welded. If you want you can PM me and I will give you my phone number and I can go over it with you.

Thanks for responding. Your description is exactly where the tank is. My number is 585-335-8271. Best to call about 730 PM if that's ok with you.

I would also recommend going to the water heater manufacturer's web site and downloading the manual. It gives you all the installation instructions.
