Our Atwood propane heater started making noise while camping in our 2008 Hilo 22t Towlite in 38 high/25 low degree weather. The first day and night there was no noise. The heater kicked on, ran smooth, and then kicked off properly.
The second day, the heater kicked on and ran smooth, but then right before I heard the thermostat click when the temperature reached its setting, the heater started making a sputtering noise. Heat was still coming from the flues but, the sputtering sounded kinda like a mini ATV engine running at idle from that point until the heater completely shut off. I don't think it was the propane fluttering as it shut off...because it was a pretty uniformly consitent sound. Anyway, has anyone ever experienced this noise and maybe knows what I need to take a look at ?

I would take a look inside to see if there is some object that may be interfering with the fan. I have heard of wasp nests, mouse nests, etc. getting in there.

Right, a uniform sound is probably something hitting the fan. Could even be a scrap of paper or a leaf.
