First trip

Took hilo 2510h out for maiden voyage this weekend. It pulled well and loved setting up, it was a breeze. Everything worked well except some of the shades. Need to do some work on those. No leaks and take down was a breeze. Only complaint was shaking while walking around in camper, got to get the stabilizer tension figured out on how much down pressure to put on.

I use with the stabilizer jacks on the trailer X chocks locking wheel chocks
They really make a difference on making the trailer stabile

I was using x chocks along with the stabilizer jacks, don't know how much down pressure on stabilizers

We bought a 1990 Hilo about 7 months ago. Found all blinds (shades) in really torn-up condition. Bought all new ones and am very careful to make sure all blinds on side windows are raised up before lowering camper. Also put small wire clips beside each window to hold the plastic rods against the wall. Hang the cords that raise the blinds out of the way so they do not drop down between the walls when lowering camper. So far the blinds still look great and we are currently preparing for our third trip which will be 12 days this time. Am becoming more comfortable with handling and towing and now would not part with my HiLo for any thing. Heading for RV park on the beach.

When I lower the stabilizer jacks, I do it until the frame just begins to lift. Then, I recheck them all around to make sure they all have firm contact with the ground.

Thanks for the info, I will just keep putting a little more down pressure until I find the sweet spot
