Default Cabinet Repair

I noticed the upper cabinet above the dinette in my 2207T was pulling loose from the ceiling next to the entry door (photo 1). Realizing that the upper cabinets are secured to the Hi-Lo only at the front face frame it was apparent that the Hi-Lo design had some weaknesses in the construction ... oh surprise.

To repair it I bought two Simpson GA1 gusset angles for $0.85 each and attached them with sheet metal screws ... simple fix, but effective (photo 2). The challenge was to hold them in place while screwing the screws in. I was in the process of repairing the bath dome at the time, so I had some sealing putty near by and it worked like a charm to hold the gusset in place while attaching it.
