Default Replace couch with recliners

Has anyone considered or actually done a replacement of the couch in the tipout? Are there any recliners that would fit in this space? We would love to have two recliners instead of the couch in our 2809c. We don't need the extra sleeping space and feel that the recliners would be a more comfortable seating arrangement for us. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

M,

Yes. We too have considered changing the existing jack-knife couch (in our tip-out) with something more comfortable.

Recently at an RV show we found a company that specializes in RV sleeper beds, and furniture. Here is the link to their website (Look in the Marine/RV section and you'll find a nice recliner set-up):

Flexsteel - America's Seating Specialist: RV/Marine Seating

My next question will be about the weight of two recliners compared to the existing couch, and is the tip-out structurally strong enough and the winch powerful enough? I haven't researched this any further because its pretty low on our priority list, but would like to make a change at some point.

Good question,
Jim

We have also thought about replacing the couch with two recliners in our 31ft. but like Jim stated we wondered about weight of chairs, is the winch strong enough, etc. So needless to say we have many questions in regards to this and actually had thought about getting advice from Rob & Jim at J&R Repair. We do have friends that have a swivel chair in their older Hi-Lo which came with the unit in the 90's, but it doesn't have the tipout feature. Would love to hear what you are able to research on this idea and we will share our info also. Ours is still in storage but we will probably be thinking about this again first time out.

Default Changing couch out for two comfortable chairs in tipout.

I think you have the right idea in asking JR repair for advice. Sam

I don' know how to post a new topic. Please explain. Anyway, do a search of the Rv hall of fame in financial trouble. Several articles are listed. Some of you were thinking of visiting here around the time of the national ralye,Hi-Lo in Ill. Dave Ramsey would not aprove of these unsound financial practices. Sam
