Default Grey Water tank and Bottom Skirting

Hello
I have a 2002 22' Towlite with a leaky grey water tank.
Seems to only leak when water is draining into tank or tank is at least half full.
How do the drain pipes connect to top of the tank ?
Are they slip rubber couplings or are they glued to the top of the tank as with the drain lines?
I have found and fixed a black water tank leak at the drain line, so I know it is not a bottom leak.
I just don't know the set up for the top of the grey water tank.
Also, has any one removed the bottom grey skirting from their trailer.
Mine is really bent up and faded and missing in a few places.
I was thinking of removing it and using aluminium trim to square off the bottom of the trailer.
Anyone done this ?
Thanks in advance.
