Monitoring system test switch broke
I'm trying to figure out how to remove the monitoring system panel from the wall so I can replace the test switch. This is the fresh, grey and holding tank levels and battery level monitoring panel.
There are no screws showing. There is a little hole at the top of the panel that maybe a small screw driver can be used to unlatch it? Or maybe the bezel around the panel needs to be pried off? I can believe the refrigerator would need to be removed to replace the panel. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Steve |
Hi Steve - does your panel look like this one? https://www.amazon.com/KIB-M21VW-Mic...14564288&psc=1
If so, I think you would just pry the front plate off at the tab on the left side. That should expose the mounting screws inside. You'll need a small flat blade to get into that tab I suspect. However, this panel (and mine) do not have a "test" switch. It DOES have the water pump switch though. If yours is different, please post a picture. - Jack |
Thanks Jack,
My monitor panel looks exactly like this but has a HiLo logo: https://www.amazon.com/KIB-K21-Monit...gateway&sr=8-6 You can barely make out the little slot at the top of the fresh water scale. Hopefully since yours and mine are built by the same company, KIB, the catch/latch is just different variations on the same theme. Thanks again for your input, Steve |
wow, not only does this site have replacement panels:

Yes, your panel is different than the one I linked to and that looks like mine. Sounds like you've got opening it figured out though, and it's cool you've found a source for the switch!
That little slot DOES look like the way to open it. - Jack |
yes the little slot at the top pushes down on a tap. Although the plastic is so brittle now the bezel actually moved up to release the monitor panel.
My local RV part counter had the switch ... I was shocked! |
Great! Good to hear your issue is solved!
