Post Off Lift Guide

My 2011 Hi Lo has guide bars on the left side (passenger side) of the trailer. The bars are attached to the bottom section of the trailer. The top section has rubber clamp-like attachments that slide up and down the guidebars when rsising or lowering the top. Yesterday, while raising the top, there was a loud bang, and the clamp-like attachment had seperated from the guidebar at the rear of the trailer. How do I get the clamp back on the guidebar?

You can remove the screws that hold the guide rail and take the guide rail off and run it through the glide block and put the screws back. You may have to lower the top some to get at the upper screws from inside. You need to check to see what caused the block to pop off. Lube the rail with silicon spray or rub paraffin on it. Was the trailer sitting level when you raised it?

Another cause may be lift cable/pulley problems. Verify all four cables are lifting equally and the top is lifting equally at all four corners.

I had the trailer with the top up in my driveway. I lowered the top and pulled it to my storage facility. My spot in storage is not level. But, I put leveling blocks under the left wheel and the trailer was nearly level when I raised the top. I am thinking that maybe the guide block started to pull out when I initially backed the trailer in to the storage slip, then after leveling it, it popped out. Thanks for the info on correcting the problem.
