Default Removing AC Unit

I've never removed a ac unit before. Was wanting to remove mine so I can lift it up in my garage and to also be assured that it is properly sealed since in redoing my whole roof. Am I going to run into Any issues with the main power feed? Im guessing the main cord connects to the unit with screws sandwiching the wires? Or is it just a plug. As long as it's easily disconnected so I can remove it from the roof is the main thing. Thanks.

motor, I removed mine last year. I most strongly suggest you have at least TWO capable people so as NOT to drag it on the roof. It's not that it's real heavy, but bulky. Two people with a plan, and the top down can maneuver it off the top. Mine had the power wire nutted together. Pretty simple once the inside cover is removed. Three long bolts holding it in. Open the electrical box, remove power cable out of the box and you should be free. DO NOT over tighten those bolts when re-installing! Seems the instructions from the seal company says about 1/2". Two people on top to re-set the unit. I ran a bead of caulk below and on top of the seal when I re-installed. Worked fine, no leaks.

Sorry, don't forget to unplug the unit first!
