Default HiLo Club for Owners Without Local Club

We are in the process of purchasing a HiLo.

We have looked at the HiLo Clubs forums and do not see anything that indicates whether or not there is a National Club to which the local clubs are affiliated.

We also have HitchHiker 5W and belong to HitchHikers of America, International (at the moment being Canadians, we are the "International") and to a chapter that is comprised of fulltimers and others that do not have enough owners in their home area or "snowbird" winter area for a club chapter.

This "Haulin' HitchHikers" chapter meets only annually at the National Rally to elect directors and approve budgets, minimalist as they are. Director's terms are staggered for continuity on the BoD. Membership fees are minimal as the the chapter expenses are quite inexpensive.

The directors and members post chapter business matters on a "child board" on the owners forums. This is only accessible by chapter members who are automatically identified when they log on to the forums.

Outside of the National rally, members meet up at regional or local chapter rallies or keep their travels posted on the child board and/or arrange to meet up with other chapter members or by email. A list of members and their email address is posted on the the child board and updated as needed.

We are curious to find out if there are HiLo owners and prospective owners that would be interested in HiLo club chapter such as this.

HiLo has never had a "national club". There are many state clubs. At one time Texas had two clubs. We did get a "national" newsletter, at one time, from Betty King. The state clubs would send reports to her for publication. Each June we have a "national rally". A state club would volunteer to host the national rally. To date, 2005 was the only year there was not a national rally. There are usually 15 - 18 states represented at this rally. This is as close to "national" as we get.
