Default 1988 HI-LO FUNLITE Manual

Hello all,

My wife is going to pick up a used 1988 HI-LO FUNLITE, does anyone know where I would be able to get a manual for it at?

I am new to RV'ing, being in the Army I am familiar with camping, but camping with a camper is new to me, i.e. septic system, holding tanks, batteries etc...

Also does anyone have any tips for a "new" camper guy?

Thanks

Jason

FYI,

2 things, your post asking questions probably needs to be in library requests? as where you posted is where they manuals would be deposited, if anyone scans one and uploads it.

FWIW:
Most everything except the lift/lowering mechanism is fairly common with ANY RV... I know, not what you wanted to hear instead of where to get manuals... But the manuals dont change that much year to year, hardly from size to size or layout, so if you looked here Hi-Lo Owners Manual - Hi-Lo camper travel trailer forum you probably find one close to year model and use it. Specific differences, probably be pinpointed by asking in the "general" areas (more people read this part of the forum, IMHO. or maybe in maint and repair, areas on this board.

Hope this helps, you out though... As I have the same problem, no manual for a 5th wheel version, and nobody else around here has a 5th, but for 95, mine (except layout) seems to be 98% of everything in common with regular 22 or longer versions of same era.

I have also posted info for Dometic brand items, an awning company, and seen links to other items, plus like I said, there are pleny shared components, with rest of the RV industry/community.

Not last resort of course is the company that still sells parts specific to hilo as well as some generic RV stuff as well, the site is listed all over this forum...
or at least here http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f9/j...es-1/#post2007

Thanks,

It was some good information. I will definitly hit up the other manuals, and start to get my self familiar.

When I get back to the states, I will probally take it up to the experts so that they can give it a once over, pick their brain, and see what advice they can give me.

Butler Ohio will be a long drive for me to go there everytime there is a problem, but I think I should be able to swing in once a year on my way to the race.

thanks again for the help.

Before you go to Butler locate a former Hi-Lo dealer in your area and have them do the work. I think there is a list in the reference library. I know my dealer still works on them and can get the parts. The lift system is really the only part that is not generic on Hi-lo.

I'm sorry I didn't print out all the most current dealers lists before the Hi-Lo website shut down. I only saved the ones in PA, OH, NY and WV that were within a reasonable distance from my location.

LOL, it is all good, I think most of the fun will be in the hunt for one. My other half has already been calling around, so hopefully she will have it already done for me in time for Memorial Day Weekend Camping

I am currently in the wonderful resorts of Afghanistan. I will be stationed back at Ft Campbell for a few months before I move to the scenic Ft Knox.

My son, a Marine Cpl, recently returned from a tour of the resorts in Afghanistan. He reported the hiking trails were nice and rugged and good for backpacking... except there are too darn many vermin and varmints!

LOL, I have to agree with him on that. I am sure he loved it here as much as I do.

Jason,

My son has repeatedly talked about how the sand got into everything. He claims he got so used to it that now he actually prefers food seasoned with sand... says he sprinkles it on like salt from a shaker! He and his bride and son are traveling to Michigan with us this summer, I've given him our 1969 Hi-Lo. HAH, I'm going to call his bluff and set the table, the first night out, with a sand-filled shaker!

I have to admit, I'm damned glad he made it back safely. PLEASE, you do the same...

Jim

Hey, I have a 1988 HI-LO funlite. I also have the manual for it. If your still looking for it email me at iship2day@hotmail.com I'll have to scan it into a file so give me a few days to get back to you if you do want it.
