Papa, Bob, Jim, and Sam -- Thanks for the support and cheering up. Ya'll (ha!) give me hope and optimism. Beach has another appointment with Dr. Dalton tomorrow to review the results of the MRI. He is a specialist in the field of sports medicine (I guess baseball players also have this sort of injury.). Because Dr. Dalton is so popular in his field, we will probably have to get in line for a surgery date and take the first available date. Sam, I am hopeful that all goes as you have described. Papa, thank you for your prayers. Bob and Jim, I think I need that Jack Daniels' drip and good old southern comfort right now!! We have a fairly new truck (2010) and Hi-Lo Classic (2009) without many miles just sitting in the yard and biting at the bit just to get on the road. So, no problem there.

Default Rotater cuff surgery.

I had some shoulder surgery and my DRS. group does alot of the professional sports teams in the area. Both my shoulders no longer give me any pain. It is amazing what advances in microscopic surgery can do. Now if i could just convince my husband to go for treatment of his hurting shoulders. He has never had surgery and doesn't want to spoil his record. It is just wear and tear on his 66yr. old body. All his life he has had a very physical job and is always on the go at home and even helps the neighbors out. Good handy men are in demand. I told my pastor "we work hard and then we go play hard in our HiLo." Beach will be good as new by the holidays.

Default Cure for hitch itch.

Go into your HiLo and have lunch. Kick back and spend some "me time with the radio on and a good book, camping magazine."

Default Update

Dee,
Any update since y'all's visit with the doctor. I've never had that surgery but it sounds like Beach could be all healed by the rally date. Hope he got some good news from the doctor.
God Bless

Papa and Sam -- Thank you for your concern. It was just as we thought. Beach tore his rotator cuff in two places, and the muscle which is attached either in the cuff or at the cuff has separated or detached itself from the cuff. The muscle sort of droops below the cuff now. If you drop your arm by your side and then crook your elbow at a 90-degree angle, you can feel that muscle in its normal state from your shoulder to approximately your elbow (Beach's muscle just droops down.). To get that muscle back in place now, Beach slowly lifts his arm up as far as he can get it and then crooks his elbow and then puts his hand behind his head, and then with some pain the muscle goes back to its position. Anyway, Dr. Dalton will have to sew the muscle back in place and repair the two torn places in the cuff. The best date so far that we can get for the surgery is December 15th, and we are in line for any cancellations. The doc said that it would be at least a year for Beach to come back 100% with that arm. Heck, that's nothing. He's doing little things around the yard and operating at 50% now but with some pain. I tease him a little and say that even three-legged dogs have to make SOME adjustments!! I'm optimistic that he will spring back pretty quick. So, we haven't totally ruled out the Hi-Lo Rally in June.

Sam -- Papa and I are down in SC and have had some wind and beach erosion, but nothing like ya'll have had up in NY and NJ. Papa, since you are nearer to the coast than me, did Sandy do any damage there?

Default Dee and Beach.

Thanks for the latest medical report. Good to know you are okay after Sandy. No dammage where I live. We watch the nightly local and world news and see the devistation in NYC and NJ. I believe it will take them years to recover, rebuild.

Dee and Sam,
I don't really know what the coast got because we were up in the mountains of NC when it passed by SC. I understand we got some rain but could not tell any additional wind etc upon our return.
Hoping Beach will get in earlier. I don't see any problems with y'all coming to the rally if Beach has "one" good arm. Ha. I do bet that is hard to adjust to and but it sounds like he's still on the go which is good.
God Bless

I just realized that the March 15th date for signing up for the 2013 rally in MN is coming up. Sending mine in today. If you didn't get the forms in the mail you can download them from the above post. We have attended the last two and really enjoyed them. For new owners you can learn a lot from other long term owners. The rally host should also post some info regarding late sign ups. I know a lot of work goes into putting on this type of function so lets get signed up so the host club can continue their planning of events.

A reply and update for the 2013 HI-LO Rally, The Minnie HI-LO Club of MN.

Thanks to everyone that has sent in for the rally. The March 15th cutoff date is still in effect.

We still have spots open and can take them until March 25th 2013 so no later than this.

Thanks Gail.

Just returned home from the 2013 HiLo National Rally in MN. A great time was had by all. It rained a little, but not enough to dampen our spirits. Gail, Elmer, and the rest of the Minnie HiLo Club did a fantastic job. The rally site was at the Grand Casino Hinckley. There were 42 units at the rally: Michigan 10, Wisconsin 8, Illinois 7, Ohio 6, Minnesota 6, Texas 1, Florida 1, Idaho 1, Colorado 1, and Virginia 1. On Wed we took tour buses north to Duluth for a cruise on Lake Superior. We also stopped on the way to Duluth at a park to view the rock tower and the Japanese gardens. I was one of the few that climbed the 80 something steps in the tower to the top. I finally caught my breath the next day . Talk about cardio!!! Several members of the forum were in attendance at the rally. It is always nice to be able to put faces to names. The dinners and entertainment provided by the rally were great. We could also take the shuttles over to the casino for more options. The wife and I went and I killed them on the tables - the buffet tables, that is. The group also took advantage of the prime rib dinners for $7.77. Like I said, everyone had a great time. Next year's rally will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado, June 9 - 13, so start saving your money. A 2015 rally is being discussed but no one has committed yet.

Default Minnesota

Wish that I had known about this sooner. Minnesota is a great state as long as it's not the dead of winter. It's cold then. Lived there for many years.

Next one in Colorado, well that's pushing it. Hope then have one closer in 2015.

Later Tim & Nancy
