Mini Fridge
 

Can I put a mini fridge in my camper? Im pretty sure if I have the camper plugged in it will work just fine but what happens when I'm running on battery?

Use lots of ice and if you really need to use the frig use an inverter. That said, it drains the battery. I have one in mine and a 110 volt frig. Last owner set it up that way.
In another post thread someone talked about using ice to help keep things cool and not stress the frig and use the battery a lot. Don't need a drained battery when you go to lift or lower the top.

You agree that it's totally fine if its plugged in? But you want me to use an inverter when im on battery correct?

If you are referring to a household/office mini-fridge, they only run on 110 VDC. This means that you have to be plugged in or you need an inverter to get 110 VDC off the battery. The draw of a refrigerator, plus the efficiency loss of an inverter may run down your battery quickly.

I only plan to use it when Im at an electric site. If we go boondocking, I will just use the coolers. Yes it is a mini fridge like they use in dorm rooms. I just wanted to make sure that it would work if I was plugged in. Thanks all

So if you are always plugged in to electric. Can you use the mini frig?

All the campground pedestals I have encountered also have a 15 or 20 amp outlet. Just run a proper extension cord from that outlet to the mini fridge. That way you are not running the mini fridge thru the trailer’s electrical system. Now you have the 30 amps for the trailer’s functions. For dry camping, consider using dry ice instead of regular ice. Dry ice doesn’t drip like regular ice.

If you can't find dry ice then freeze water in empty milk jugs.
 

Leave room for the ice to expand. When the ice melts you have cold drinking water. I have a cooler that keeps food cold for five days.

We have a mini fridge in our trailer. As we always camp at a site with electric, we don't have any trouble at all running the fridge on our trailer's electrical system. No battery trouble. We usually camp 10 days at a time.

Our 3 way didn't work and we wanted a larger fridge and didn't want to spend the money for another 3 way.
