Filler hose

What is the best way to dry the inside of my white hose I use to fill my Hi Lo ?

I use Camco Drinking Water Freshener (sodium hypochlorite) and a filter each time I fill my fresh water tank but am certain water stays inside 24/7/365 and can promote unwanted bacteria, etc. growth.

I have in the past cleaned the tank with a mild bleach solution then rinsed it out several times but am now also concerned about my white hose which I keep with me when traveling and leave in the camper all winter. I don't believe either hose or tank ever get completely dry inside.

RICHARD1943, Using the exterior drain on the fresh water tank, hold (unfortunately by hand) your white hose and let it drain thru. You could also plug one end and allow it to fill, then drain. This is done, of course when you use the Freshener.
I purchased a 50' white hose and divided it into two 25' lengths with brass fittings. Only use one, but have another in those rare cases. When I shut down for the season, I sterilize both and lay them front to back on the roof of the RV for a couple days. Roll them up and store them.

Very good ideas. What product do you use to 'sterilize' your hose ?

RICHARD, I use a verylight bleach solution. Never use a compressor or vacuum to dry it out. Let it evaporate, doesn't have to be perfect. I also use a new filter element each season.

Thanks. Good ideas I need to follow.

Once your hose is connected to the spigot, let water run thru it before hooking the hose to your trailer. I have been doing this for years with no ill results.

I let it run, crimp it and hook it up to the filter and secure the filter to the trailer. Tighten up with channel locks. Inside, I run the toilet for a few to "burb" the air. Then each spigot.
