Default Top lift gap

We just bought a 2003 (2203t) and took a trip. The weather turned cold and we noticed drafts all around the camper. The top appears to be about 2 inches from reaching the position where the seals will meet the bottom. It does not seem to be a "creeping" problem but just not reaching full extension.
It is great to find this forum. I have other questions

This is a common issue. Read through the rest of the posts in the Lift System section for suggestions on how to correct it.

It could be that the fluid is low in the reservoir. Check the level with the top in the down position, the level should be about an inch below the the fill hole. What sound does the pump make when the top is full up? Normally it should make a screech like it is straining when it gets to the limit of travel.
