Bought our FIRST Hi-Lo

Just a quick introduction. My wife and I (both in our 70's) bought our FIRST Hi-Lo yesterday. Looking forward to gleaning any and all information we can get here on this forum. It is a 1994 Hi-Lo Fun Lite 23FLL. Seems to be in great condition for $2500.00? I think that was a good price? So now our 1994 Ford F-150 4X4 will be towing our 1994 Hi-Lo on new adventures. :)

The first thing that comes to mind is the age and condition of the tires, the wheel bearings, and the brakes. They all need to be checked.

I have left it at a RV service shop to have it all inspected? I hope after checking all systems and repairing whatever is needed that the tires and brakes would be included? ;-). I did purchase a WD Hitch used today. A Curt Load Leveling one with anti sway bar? $125.00 complete. Hoping it is a good one!

If the gross weight of your truck is higher than the gross weight of the HiLo you should not need a weight distribution hitch. Because of the low profile of the HiLo the anti-sway control bar may also not be needed. The weight of both the hitch and sway bar decrease the towable weight of the trailer.

HI,
I am 77. My wife and I have traveled with our '24 HILO all over the US, Alaska and the Yukon. Lots of fun. Welcome to HILo Travel. We are just a bit North of you, but my son in law just got hired to fly for Delta, so will be visiting the Atlanta area later this year..
