Hello!

Hello, I知 Dawn. My husband and I just bought our first camper 😁 it is a big project but we are planning on gutting most of the inside since the walls and ceiling are completely water damaged. I知 both excited and nervous about this undertaking!! Right now I知 browsing through the remodels and see so many good ideas. Trying to find the best materials to use in replacing the ceiling and upper side walls. I think the lower walls and floor are good but I guess we値l see when we tear into it!
I was looking at the rubberized roofing you can buy. Has anyone had experience with this? Or what do you think the best approach to sealing the roof is??
Glad to be here and thanks for having us 😊

Welcome to the forum, Dawn. It would be helpful if you could tell us the model of your trailer. A couple of sources for Hi-Lo specific parts are listed below. (They are in your neck of the woods....) Good luck!

Also Dawn, in the reference library under Hi Lo owners manuals, there is a sticky for short videos for the Hi Lo systems, good info! And welcome to the forum.
Suggest you take pics all thru tear-down and rebuild, and please keep us up to date on your endeavor.

Thank you. I will check out the files. Will do on the pics! It’s going to be a long process but I’ll keep everyone updated.

Welcome to the forum.

I just used J&R for seal replacement between the layers. They also did some other small repairs. Many of us have done extensive repairs due to water infiltration. I prefer a rubber roof. Our first HiLo had a rubber roof. Check out Dicor rubber roof kits. We are here to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks everyone. I checked out all the videos and read a ton of posts. Originally I was thinking I壇 take off all the trim around the roof and redo it. Instead, I figured I would just redo the place where the trim had pulled away from the roof and then using eternabond tape along all the seams. As soon as we get the roof to stop leaking we値l be able to start tearing out the walls and ceiling. It痴 hard with the weather here but hopefully we値l get a few warm, dry days!

You are correct in getting the roof leak free. Then other repairs can be tackled.

79 Hi-Lo

We aren't new to the r/v scene as we owned numerous over the years. Class As, Class CS and a few VW pop-top campers. One we had in England and drove it all over England Scotland and Wales. We currently own a 4p Monaco Dynasty diesel pusher and spend part of the summers in NY and winters in S. Florida. While in NM we thought a smaller camper to the parks and mountains would be easier so today we found a 79 Hi-Lo here in town. It's all there and in pretty good shape. Taking a new battery and four new tires and take it to my shop. Will post pics tomorrow.
