Just picked up HiLo 2510 and am in process of going through it testing everything and familiarizing myself with all. A definite step up from the jayco pup.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new purchase. And though we have never had a Jayco pup, we did have a small Estrelle and it was a real pleasure when we got our 21T and then graduated to a 27T.

Hello, we just picked up our first camper this weekend. Its a 2000 170RK HiLo. Needs a little work but its going to be great fun. We are taking it out for its maiden voyage over Easter weekend.

Thanks, we definetly will. Going with the previous owner so it will be a great learning experience as well. Thanks to everybody on this forum for all of the great information. Made it easy to say yes when we found our camper.

already set it up a couple of times, been going through it to test everything. i just have underside to go through lubing cables and pulleys and cylinder shaft.

We set it up in the driveway and now are having the fun of getting all of the necessities. going to be a very relaxing weekend.

If ya wanna have some fun (educationally) on those trial set-ups, try laying UNDER the unit, near the piston, while it's being raised and lowered by another person. Lay FLAT, with hands on the ground. It's interesting how seeing everything in motion helps you understand how it works.

I know it is a rare occurence, but I wonder why Hilo didn't provide safety stands with the units for cable failures, Murphy and his laws live at my house quite often. I am aware cable maintenance is a must, just fear going to sleep and waking up wearing the top. :)

If your safety bar is working right, that won't happen. I periodically raise the top fully then lower it to ensure the safety bar works, then raise the top again. Carrying four 2X4s and the shimming material to put at each corner would be maddening to me.
Take care of your systems and they'll take care of you.
