Smile Howdy!

New owners of a 2000 240D Classic. We picked it up, spent an afternoon doing a quick clean up, then left for a weekend at Bullards Beach State Park in Bandon, Oregon (on the Southern Oregon coast).

What a blast! We'd been researching Hi-Lo campers for about 2 years before we took the plunge. We have much to learn, but this is so much better than tent camping or trying to luck out and get a yurt.

We could definitely use some advice about the hydraulic system, re-sealing the roof and windows, and the door (the screen is missing). Also, has anyone replaced their window valances? Advice about camping with a dog?

So happy to participate in this forum!

Welcome to the forum.
A number of owners have done extensive work on their units and if you do not get any responses, which is unlikely, you can do a search for window repairs, etc. I have not replaced the window valances, just taken one down and removed the light weight decorative fabric that covers the screw heads. On our valance all of the fabric is stapled to the valance frame. With the fabric removed the frame is a little flimsy so you would need to be very careful if you want to replace the fabric.

Hi and congratulations.
I am still in search mode, just like you were.
This forum is loaded with "goodies" of
information about all aspects of Hi Lo
ownership. Grab a chair, a cup of "coffee?"
and read on.

Welcome

Welcome to the forum! Lots of experienced owners here that can help with your questions. What specifically did you need help with regarding the hydraulic system?

If you don't have an owner's manual, check out the Resource Library. There are helpful videos there as well.

Welcome. The more specific your questions the more likely you'll get specific answers. . Dogs? Have you camped with your dog before? If so there isn't much difference with a trailer . Mine tends t o like space under the table so I did some alterations so she doesn't have worry about the table "leg" and can curl into the bed I put down there for her. Makes less room for our legs, though, when we are eatin.

Default Welcome to the forum

You have asked a lot of good questions. It is very important to take out all of your windows and replace with butyl tape and Lexel caulk. You tube has a tutitorial on how to do this. What kind of roof do you have? It is a very good idea to seal it. Check out the posted videos on how to operate the HiLo. I am the owner of a classic. Keep the specific questions coming.

Default Welcome to the Forum!

Take some time to watch the video owners manual and it will supplement the printed manual. Especially watch the section on the maintenance of the lift system.
