Looking to buy - North Texas+ area
 

Hi everyone,

New member here and after a fair amount of RV/trailer research, my wife and I believe a Hi-Lo will be a perfect fit for us. We're in the Dallas area, but would be willing to drive 400 miles or so. I'm thinking in the $5k range for price, and would prefer one in pretty good working order.

We're looking for a lightweight trailer, preferably shorter than 24 ft. Our tow vehicle is a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, and is rated to tow 5000lbs, but I want a lighter weight trailer to avoid struggling on mountain passes and to keep the MPG up. If anyone has one they're willing to part with, please let me know!

They are out there, but with the holidays you might not get immediate results. If you haven't done so, I would suggest RV Trader.com and other types of sites. Just don't pay their advertised price.:D

I am looking at gooseneck trailers and TX has a lot of them. I would then sell current camper. I need a toy hauler type trailer.
I would have to drive to tx from GA, so buy mine and I will drive it out.

I have done a lot of repairs, so there are no issues, and I have added solar and additional batteries, plus new axles (3500lb) to raise it higher for clearance.

22 footer, 1997.

Currently has a double bed where couch would be, but I plan to put couch back in to sell.

Hey yeah it looks like you've done a lot of work on it, but looks like you've done a pretty good job overall. I was impressed by your water setup- we had some issues when I borrowed my in-laws' trailer that your water system would have avoided. I have some welding and carpentry experience (amateur if I'm being generous), and my bachelors is in electrical engineering so I actually kind of look forward to tinkering and maintaining a trailer. :)

Do you by chance have any photos of the interior in present state?

I will get some photos today, but it is not emptied out of stuff either.

The water thing I dont need as much as I only seem to boondock, but the electrical is much more impressive. Redone all that and put in the solar and additional two batteries and had to rewire to separate the lift battery from the coach batteries and still have them charge. This is not as photogenic as the rest.
