New HiLo Owners - Hi-Lo camper travel trailer forum

Hello Everyone...
My name is Pat Borden, and my wife is Shari. We are from Reno, Nevada.
We have been camping in a Chalet Alpine A-frame. If you aren't familiar with them, it's a little glorified tent on wheels, but hard sided. Really comfy, easy to tow, but ummmm....a little sparse. My wife was browsing Craigslist, and came across a dealers ad for a 2010 HiLo 2310h in like new condition. Well we have been wanting to upgrade, so we went and checked it out. The ad was no exaggeration! The trailer was in immaculate condition, it had only been out twice, and then stored in a shop building. Needless to say we bought it that day! We get to bring our beautiful trailer home next weekend, and will take our inaugural trip to Great Basin National Park a few days after.
I simply cannot tell you how excited I am to be part of the HiLo community!

Congratulations, Pat, and welcome to you and Shari to our happy band of camping lunatics.

Sounds like you got a deal you can be proud of - and yes, I know about the Chalets. They're kinda cool, but as you said, sparse.

DO spend a lot of time looking through everything here in the forum. You'll find answers to questions you didn't even know you had. I'd also suggest you go through the videos starting with this one.

Pat and Shari, Welcome from SW Florida! I'm really happy for you. I know I could hardly contain myself when I got my 2400. The 700 mile trip home with it just made me even more proud. ENJOY!

Welcome from your neighbors in California, Pat and Shari! As you said, your Hi Lo is a big upgrade from the Chalet which I think you will enjoy very much! An inaugural trip to Great Basin sounds really cool. We were just there in May and enjoyed it immensely. You can read more at the link below. However, I highly recommend you do a short shakedown cruise first close to home to learn about your new trailer and to work out any kinks it may have. Enjoy!

Welcome Pat, I'm sure you know the importance of well maintained trailer tires, but looks can be deceiving. When I purchased my 27T last year, the tires looked like they were in excellent condition, but unknown to me at the time, the trailer had been sitting on the dealers lot for a year. We did get about 4000 miles of travel on the trailer before the first tire blew between Las Cruces, NM and Tucson, AZ. The second tire blew a few blocks from home as I was on my way to a dealer to get new tires.

Like Luckydog stated. It is advisable to do a local shakedown cruise first.
1-2 day to get to know your trlr.

We get distress postings from owners all of the time about how to do????, and ???? while they are on the road.

There are always the "to be checked before leaving" items. Tires to 50psi cold, hydraulic fluid level, battery fitness.
All of these things are very important and lead to a FUN trip.
